lyrics

TEARS IN THE SAND 3:47
words and music by: Ginger Coyle
It’s raining oil on Louisiana today. Mother nature says she’s ‘sick to tears’ with the human race. She understands the sun & the moon & the sky & the tides of the sea, but she can’t comprehend things like money or power, or greed.
And there’s tears in the sand
And there’s blood on our hands
Now we’re searching for a person we can blame. It’s easy just to point your finger at somebody else’s name. We’re still drivin’ our SUV’s and we’re fillin’ our cars up with gas. A nation to blind to see when they’re goin’ nowhere fast.
And there’s tears in the sand
And there’s blood on our hands
I remember building castles as a little girl. Standing at the water’s edge fascinated with the world. Now I look into my daughter’s eyes and I wonder if she’ll ever see - Clean water kissing white sand, or a pelican dance in the breeze.
When are we gonna change? How will we ever change if we keep makin’ the same mistakes?
